Low Air Inlet Temperature Dryers
Designed for Air inlet temperatures less than 140F. What does this mean? If your compressor does not have an after-cooler to cool the air as it comes out of the compressor before it goes into the tank, then the air will be too hot for the refrigerated air dryer to be effective in removing the water from the air. If this is the case please look at the HIGH INLET TEMPERATURE dryers, they are designed to handle high temperature air.
HOW TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT SIZE DRYER
An industrial grade piston air compressor produces about 3.5 CFM per horsepower. A rotary screw air compressor produces about 4.0 CFM per horsepower. So, if you have a five (5) hp piston air compressor it produces about 17.5 CFM, you should purchase a dryer that is just above that CFM rating.
